Winner of an AIA Honor Award, this project is for a desert retreat located near the Devil’s Punchbowl, near the town of Valyermo in the Antelope Valley.  Inspired by land artists such as Michael Heizer and Robert Smithson, the design seeks to identify the meaning of place in a setting of environmental extremes.
