Polytechnic School
Pasadena, CA
The project for the Polytechnic School in Pasadena is a multi-phased project that involved campus-wide master planning, design, and construction for an iconic campus originally designed by Myron Hunt and Gordan Kauffman. The project included a new below-grade parking garage, the relocation of historic structures, the renovation of existing buildings, new construction, and associated sitework for the reconfigured campus.
New construction for the lower School included a new Administration Building, Library, Food Commons, Classrooms, Science Labs, and Kindergarten Spaces. For the Upper School, new spaces included a Library, Math and Science Labs. The design is intended to be a contemporary addition to the existing campus buildings, and utilized the familiar scale and materials of these structures to create a cohesive unified campus. The campus and buildings achieved LEED Gold Certification.
