The University of Calgary MacEwan Student Centre project is a master plan for the renovation and expansion of its existing Student Centre.  Located on the north side of the Taylor Mall, the 260,000sf project will include the complete repurposing of the 1980s era building into a contemporary center for campus social and academic activity.  The concept for the master plan and conceptual design was to ‘crack the building open’ to maximize transparency into the existing facility, to untangle current service and pedestrian traffic, and to enhance the program with abundant social space along the south facade.
